  • Learn to use Bridge & Studio Spline geometry.
  • Learn to use bounding boxes to control curves & surfaces that result from those curves.
  • Learn to use Sew, Surface Trim, Surface Offset, Transform, X-Form, I-Form, Replace and Extend surfaces.
  • Learn to render with various visualization techniques.
  • Learn to use analysis features such as shape analysis, deviation analysis and zebra stripes.
  • Learn to work with TIFF images from ideation models out of Photoshop within your model for creating initial surface models.
  • Learn to use construction and reference geometry appropriately so engineers can take over with ease.
  • A portion of this training will focus on ideation and proving form inside Unigraphics NX. Also, discuss design team techniques and their deliverables to the engineering department. Discuss precisely what deliverables are required for engineers in relation to the design field. Discuss in detail the industrial designer’s role in proving form as opposed to capturing form. Discuss managing flow or striation of surface. The first day of this four-day portion will cover WAVE or the Unigraphics NX equivalent of Top Down Design modeling workflow for managing form development through multiple parts.Ĭreate solids and cuts using surfaces. Manipulate a curve through points and poles using surface modeling techniques.

Discuss light reflections for interpreting form. Using all your experience from Alias Studio, Rhino, Solidworks, or Pro/ENGINEER these four days of parametric surfacing and surfacing using Unigraphics NX will be an intensive covering NX modeling workflow. This part of the course is to get the industrial designer from learning the basics, to advanced by becoming productive working with NX in just three days. Learn to redefine parts (with certainty) that others have modeled. Learn to utilize drawings as design tools rather than simply documentation tools.

Create assemblies and learn how to create drawings. Learn to create sketches, design features, reference features and the basic techniques such as offsets, extrudes, shells, and trim features. This class teaches you the Intro to NX Applications: part mode, sketcher mode, assembly mode and drafting mode. Learn the basic concepts of the latest Unigraphics NX applications. Participants attending this UG training class should have a degree in product/industrial design and possess an understanding of surfacing in Alias, Rhino or any other surfacing package.ģ days UG Level 1 training is an introduction to constraint based modeling utilizing the latest release of NX.

Participants will undertake at least twenty tutorials specifically designed to form a strong foundation within the UG constraint based modeler. Certain restrictions apply, please call to inquire. This course can be broken-up into whatever fits your schedule when done onsite. This course combines solid and surface modeling techniques by utilizing Unigraphics NX software. While most training providers don’t even know what an industrial designer is, thus placing engineers and industrial designers in the same class, this intensive is specifically designed for the seasoned industrial designers who have a working knowledge of Alias or Rhino and want to learn Unigraphics NX quickly and in a seven day workshop. For example, parametric surfacing using complex curves and surfaces much like those used with the Alias Studio or Rhino 3D tools.

We will provide the student who has little or no working knowledge of Unigraphics NX with the skills to define solid models, assemblies and drawings plus basic surfaces, including more stylized surfaces seen in seating or ergonomic shapes. This course is specifically designed for Industrial Designers and those Mechanical Engineers working specifically within industrial design teams or workflow.
